Who is Mary?

Where does Mary appear in the Bible?

Before you, Mother of Christ, before your Immaculate Heart, I today, together with the whole Church, unite myself with our Redeemer in this his consecration for the world and for people, which only in his divine Heart has the power to obtain pardon and to secure reparation.

Taken from: 33 Days of Morning Glory, pg. 104, John Paul II Act of Entrustment

Devoted To Mary

From the beginning, the Father planned for Mary to be the mother of His Son. See Genesis 3:15. Even though she is not mentioned by name, Mary is the woman in this verse. But Mary had to say yes. She did that when the angel Gabriel appeared to her. She is the perfect example of faith and always says yes! That is why she is our mother in heaven and the Queen of Heaven and Earth.

There will be much more added to this page as time goes on and there will be subpages added about Mary's many titles, apparitions and novenas. A subpage will also be added devoted to The Legion of Mary which is the largest lay organization of Catholics worldwide.

Immaculate Conception

                       St. Maximilian Kolbe

   St. Maximilian Kolbe

The doctrine

In the Constitution Ineffabilis Deus of 8 December, 1854, Pius IX pronounced and defined that the Blessed Virgin Mary "in the first instance of her conception, by a singular privilege and grace granted by God, in view of the merits of Jesus Christ, the Saviour of the human race, was preserved exempt from all stain of original sin."

St. Maximilian’s Prayer of Consecration

O Immaculata, Queen of heaven and earth, refuge of sinners and our most loving Mother, God has willed to entrust the entire order of mercy to you.

I, (your name), a repentant sinner, cast myself at your feet humbly imploring you to take me with all that I am and have, wholly to yourself as your possession and property. Please make of me, of all my powers of soul and body, of my whole life, death and eternity, whatever most pleases you.

If it pleases you, use all that I am and have without reserve, wholly to accomplish what was said of you: “She will crush your head,” and, “You alone have destroyed all heresies in the whole world.” Let me be a fit instrument in your immaculate and merciful hands for introducing and increasing your glory to the maximum in all the many strayed and indifferent souls, and thus help extend as far as possible the blessed kingdom of the most Sacred Heart of Jesus. For wherever you enter you obtain the grace of conversion and growth in holiness, since it is through your hands that all graces come to us from the most Sacred Heart of Jesus.

Amen.

The Miraculous Medal

The Blessed Virgin made 3 apparitions to St. Catherine Laboure and gave her the mission of making this medal. Mary promised that those who would wear the medal would receive great graces especially if they would wear it around their neck.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel

This feast was instituted by the Carmelites between 1376 and 1386. The feast was assigned to 16 July, because on that date in 1251, according to Carmelite traditions, the scapular was given by the Blessed Virgin to St. Simon Stock; it was first approved by Sixtus V in 1587.

There is no greater pain on earth than for a mother to loose a child. Can you imagine the pain that Mary experienced as she held her Son after He was taken down from the Cross?

7 Dolors of Mary

So Much pain and so much sorrow. All because of the pride of Lucifer. Pride is truly a deadly sin and the most lethal sin of them all because it is at the root of all other sin.

But the dolors of Mary are testimony to her love and commitment and faith. Mary's pain and suffering allow all of us to enjoy eternal peace and happiness. Mary's pain and suffering present a greatness of holiness that is no match for the evil one.

Turn to Mary and there you will find her Son and He will welcome you with open arms for saying, "yes" to her as she said, "yes" to Him.

The Descent of the Holy Spirit
Catechism of the Catholic Church
Paragraph 767 "When the work which the Father gave the Son to do on earth was accomplished, the Holy Spirit was sent on the day of Pentecost in order that he might continually sanctify the Church."174 Then "the Church was openly displayed to the crowds and the spread of the Gospel among the nations, through preaching, was begun."175 As the "convocation" of all men for salvation, the Church in her very nature is missionary, sent by Christ to all the nations to make disciples of them.176

The Holy Spirit came to Mary and the Apostles as tongues of fire.

Good Night to

Our Blessed Mother

Night is falling, dear Mother

the long day is o’er!

And before thy loved image

I am kneeling once more

To thank thee for keeping me

safe through the day

to ask thee this night

To keep evil away.

Many times have I fallen

today, Mother dear,

Many graces neglected,

since last I knelt here;

Wilt thou not in pity,

my own Mother mild,

Ask Jesus to pardon

the sins of thy child?

I am going to rest

for the day’s work is done,

Its hours and its moments

have passed one by one;

And the God who will judge me

has noted them all,

He has numbered each grace,

He has counted each fall.

In His book they are written

against the last day,

O Mother, ask Jesus

to wash them away;

For one drop of His blood

which for sinners was spilt,

Is sufficient to cleanse

the whole world of its guilt.

And if ere the dawn

I should draw my last breath

And the sleep that I take

be the long sleep of death,

Be near me, dear Mother,

for Jesus’ dear sake

When my soul on

Eternity’s shore shall awake.
